Eerlijk gezegd vind ik de bumper van de V6 mooier dan die van de GT... Wel mooie auto's hoor maar mooier dan het huidige model? Niet, als je het mij vraagt.

Foto is genomen in Michigan, aan de vrachtwagens in de achtergrond te zien. Bij Detroit waarschijnlijk.

2010 Mustang Spied in Parking Lot

With less than a month to the unveiling of the 2010 Mustang at the LA Auto show in November somebody spied a camoued prototype in a shopping center parking lot. You can clearly see what the new lines of the front and rear fascia’s will look like along with the new 19" wheels.

Of het er nou echt op vooruit is gegaan weet ik niet. Die neus van die shelby vind ik maar niks, lijkt niet eens meer op een mustang. Die GT is nog het mooist. De achterzijde loopt ook wel erg schuin op, ik weet niet hoor. Misschien als ik het in het echt zie dat het mee valt.

Ford’s latest teaser photo is of the 2010 Mustang ‘Power Dome’ hood as they refer to it. The photo does not reveal much but you can tell it has been raised a bit to accomadate what Ford refers to as powerful engines. Does this mean there will be an increase in horsepower for the 2010 Mustang, probably so but to what extent is still unknown.

Ford’s Words:

Mustang enthusiasts always have loved the power of America’s favorite muscle car. A glance at the hood showcases the power waiting to be unleashed as the potent nature of the 2010 Mustang is amplified by aggressive sculptural surfacing on the all-new hood. “The strong powerdome punches outward from the hood surface, further emphasizing the powerful engines underneath,” said Design Manager George Saridakis. “It’s practically bursting through the surface.”

The2010 Mustang indeed is ready to charge forward. But with that brute strength are touches of beauty and style as well. “The subtle surface changes on the fender edge make for a more dynamic design,” said Chief Designer Douglas Gaffka. “The softer, blended-in surfacing of the wheel arch creates a much-more flowing look, giving the car an appearance of a wider stance,” added Saridakis.

All the better for 2010 Mustang drivers to leap off the line.

“The 2010 Mustang is all about crafting a world-class car,” said Senior Designer Robert Gelardi. “Everywhere you look, exterior and interior, there’s attention to detail in design, engineering and manufacturing befitting this American icon.”

Our weekly tease is upon us and this time Ford gives us a photo of the 2010 Mustang’s dual climate controls and shifter console area. As noted in a previous post the parking brake has been moved southward to accomadate three new little on/off switches. The three on/off switches include your Hazards, Traction Control and Trunk release. The addition of dual climate control brings with it a few more controls as you can see in the photo. All in all it’s definately a cleaner look from the previous model, I think Ford has done a great job with it.

Inderdaad een flink kort pookje. Maar ik moet zeggen dat ik steeds meer te spreken ben over wat ik zie van het nieuwe model. Op gebied van kwaliteit en uitrusting gaat het zeker vooruit.

The latest teaser shot of the 2010 Mustang shows us a little more of the interior including the full dash, a door panel, center console, A/C & radio controls and the new digital display. We already saw a glimpse of the new digital display in a previous photo but we are seeing the door panel for the first time which matches the inlay of the seats. The A/C and radio controls along with the new digital display look well spaced out and accessable. The center console with it’s clean flat look has a few hidden surprises in the form of drink holders and storage space so we are told. The aluminum dash panels, shifter, steering wheel inlays and chrome trim add a touch of elegance to the overall appearance of the interior which can be a good thing. Only two more teaser photos left until the November 19 unveiling.
